The circuit breaker has a position indicator for the motor driven switching arm in is ON and OFF position. The drive contains a pinion and an actuating gear secured on an actuating shaft, to which is connected the switching arm. The actuating gear is formed by a toothed segment which comes out of mesh with the pinion, when the switching arm has reached its ON or OFF position. On the actuating shaft is secured a drive gear for the position indicator, as well as an intermediate gear, the two gears being driven in synchronism. The intermediate gear is carried by a follower segment via a follower pin of the actuating gear, when the latter carries out its setting motion. This provides a mesh with the pinion.
