The heated external driving mirror has the mirror (2) fitted into a housing (1) and with the space inside the housing filled with a conducting layer (3) in which connecting electrodes are embedded. The electrodes (8) provide the heating current connection for even heating of the mirror. The back of the mirror and the inside of the housing are coated with an insulating layer so that short circuits are prevented. The backing layer serves also as a damping layer. The heater design does not damage the mirror or housing.
