The electro-hydraulic lithotripsy appts. is for concretions in passages of the body such as gallstones. It has a tubular probe for insertion in the body passage. The probe has two insulated electrodes forming a spark discharge gap between them. The probe (18) also has a concretion collector cage (20) automatically unfolding into the working position under the action of a thrust wire (30) from a rear folded position in which most or all of it is inside the probe (16). In the working position the cage is in front of the probe head, so as to catch and hold the concretion.
