The safety handle (12) of a fuze head (1) for hand grenades, which is suspended on the fuze head (1) so that it can pivot and be released, covers (in the safe position) a cocked firing pin and is locked by a safety pin. The safety pin is inserted through a hole (10) in the fuze head (1) and through a hole (14) in each of the side pieces (13) of the safety handle (12), and its free end is spread apart. In order to protect the spread-apart end against inadvertently becoming stuck in the extension of the hole (10) on one side, a sleeve (4) is arranged at a distance from the side wall (8) of the fuze head (1), which sleeve (4) is arranged on the lower part (7) of the fuze head (1), which is integrally formed on the lower part (7) of the fuze head (1). In consequence, a slot (5) is formed between the fuze head (1) and the sleeve (4). A second sleeve (3) is integrally formed on the opposite side, likewise forming a slot (5) on the lower part (7), which second sleeve (3) is used to limit the insertion depth of the safety pin.
