Machine read identification card - has inductive cells located between protective sheets of rigid plastics

An identity card carrying coded information in the form of inductive devices and is designed to prevent falsification. The inductive devices are in the form of rings (3) that when closed generates a '1' state when open a 'O' state. The rings are formed by etching from a base layer of a lead-tin alloy. Top and bottom sheets of an opaque, stiff plastics pourable protection of the memory cells. Any attempt to separate the sheets is designed to cause damage to the conductive device. The backing sheet (10) is of thin foil, made of plastics or paper. An adhesive foil (6, 8) is fitted on either side of the conductive devices.
