<p>Thermal unbalance in a rotor is counteracted by adjusting coolant flow in individual hydraulically parallel paths in the winding. The radially outermost conductor (6) in the slot is the one through which coolant is discharged. At its end is an adjustable outlet nozzle (17). Coolant flow is regulated by altering the nozzle angle with respect to the rotor axis. The nozzles discharge into a collecting chamber at the end of the machine. Inlet (5) is at the bottom of the winding slots and is taken from an inlet chamber.</p>
