PURPOSE:To prevent pressure loss in a catalyst layer, blockade of the layer, and decrease in denitration ratio of the catalyst layer in a dry denitration unit for a gas contg. smoke dust, by packing the catalyst between two sheets of material having holes of a specific diameter and set at a specific inclination, and by installing charging and discharging openings for the catalyst at specific positions. CONSTITUTION:Between porous materials 2, 3 having holes of a diameter smaller than the particle diameter of the catalyst is formed a granular catalyst layer 1, and the materials are set in the denitration unit 4 at an inclination of an angle easy for the catalyst to slide down. Charging 5 and discharging 6 openings for the catalyst are made respectively at the top and the bottom of the catalyst layer. A predetermined quantity of the catalyst is discharged through the discharging opening 6 continuously or intermittently so as to remove covering dust. This method allows to prevent pressure loss due to the dust, in addn., the catalyst particle consumption caused by the weight of the catalyst is less than that of conventional vertical catalyst layer, and removes the limitation for the gas-introducing speed, so that the unit can be miniaturized, and decrease in denitration ratio is prevented. |
