A low-moisture gum includes about 30 to about 90 percent of a gum base with a softening point from about 70 DEG C to about 100 DEG C; from about 0.1 to about 20 percent of a water-insoluble plasticizer; from about 0 to about 65 percent solid bulk sweetener; less than about 0.5 percent water; and is substantially free of humectant.
