发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable the restoration of point defects by forming slits to picture element electrodes and cutting the periphery of the picture element electrodes to which conductive foreign matter sticks by a simple operation without splashing the melt to the periphery. CONSTITUTION:The picture element electrode 31 is formed with the slits 32 in two-dimensional directions and is made into the shapes divided to plural small picture element regions 34a-34l connected by bridges 33 between the slits 32. The bridge 33 between the slits 32 dividing the small picture element region 34d of the picture element electrode 31 is irradiated by, for example, a YAG laser condensed to a small size through a glass substrate and is thereby melted and is formed with a cut part 36 when the conductive foreign matter 35 sticks to the region 34d of the electrode 31. The region 34d to which the foreign matter 35 sticks is thereby separated from the electrode 31 and the shorting between the electrode 31 and an ITO counter electrode is eliminated. The point defect over the entire part of one picture element electrode is thus prevented.
