The method makes it possible to drive complete structures, e.g. railway underpasses, into the ground according to the press-pipe driving system, the size of the covering playing no role. The essential features are: 1. Guarantee of the final position of the structure by means of an insertion track (2) 2. The form of the insertion track is such that work can be carried out safely with conventional press-driving equipment 3. Securing, in the horizontal and vertical direction, of the earth material situated above the structure, i.e. against pushing away and material falling in, by forming an anchored frame (11, 12, 13) 4. Complete reduction of the friction forces on the upper side of the structure by forming an additional sliding horizon The advantage of the construction method consists in being able to forgo securing structures, e.g. auxiliary bridges. Arrangements lying above the driving section, e.g. tracks, can be used without restriction. Work can be carried out with conventional driving devices. Conventional methods such as e.g. lubricant injections can be used additionally. <IMAGE>
