Orthogonal array faceplate wafer tube display

Minature video-type display comprised of an otherwise normal microchannel plate (MCP) image intensifier wafer tube which uses, instead of the normal input faceplate having a uniform photocathode, a video-driven one-dimensional electroluminescent array on the output surface thereof and an orthogonal one-dimensional photocathode array mounted on the inner surface thereof. The fiber optic faceplate contains vacuum feed-throughs for the cathode array elements.
