METHOD OF REMOVING HYDROGEN SULFIDE FROM A GAS CONTAINING CARBON DIOXIDE (D#73,028-Cl-FB) A process wherein hydrogen sulfide present in a gas mixture comprising hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide is preferentially removed from the gas stream into an aqueous solution where the hydrogen sulfide is oxidized. The aqueous solution has dissolved therein either bicarbonate ions or bicarbonate ions with transition metal ions, and oxygen. -I-
