A mounting for a matrix print head on a print carriage contains two one-piece clamp levers pivotable mounted on either side of a print head holder. Each lever has a clamp nose engaging a clamp edge of a plate and opening and closing surfgaces. Each lever has an angled clip (17) on its pivotably mounted end which engages the head holder and consists of a plate (18) and an opposing spring loop (16). The plate carries a journal forming the pivot point which engages a bore in the head holder and holds the opposing loop against a lateral circular recess. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple arrangment ensures definite position of matrix print head on carriage and that mounting withstands printing forces.
