The ballistic fire-fighting missile is in the form of a normal or extra-long standard calibre mortar shell, rocket, bomb etc. The millile comprises a vessel contg. the extinguishing agent (1), a bursting head with fuse (2), and a stabilising portion (3). Wall thickness is such as satisfy ballistic requirements, no destructive splinters being formed. It can be designed to burst on impact, or at a set height above the source of the fire. USE - For fighting large fires from a distance.
