PURPOSE:To obtain a variable phase shifter of simple constitution capable of advancing or delaying a phase with replacement unneeded, by providing a switching method for phase advance and phase delay. CONSTITUTION:To input terminal 1, change-over contact 5c of switch 5 and one terminal of variable resistor 6 are connected. To input terminal 2, change-over contact 7c of switch 7 and output terminal 4 are connected. Between contacts 5c and 7c, coil 8 and capacitor 9 are series-connected and at its middle point, the other terminal of variable resistor 6 and output terminal 3 are connected together. Switches 5 and 7 interlock and contacts 5a and 7b, and 5b and 7a and connected respectively. Now, changing switches 5 and 7 over to contacts 5a and 7b delays the phase of an output signal by 0 to pi. Switching contacts of switches 5 and 7 to 5b and 7b advances the phase of output signal by 0 to pi. The phase angle varies linearly with the resistance value of variable resistor 6. A variable phase shifter can therefore be obtained with replacement of an element unneeded. |
