FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN SHEET AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To produce a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet excellent in mechanical strength, rigidity and impact resistance. CONSTITUTION:Many roving like glass fiber bundles F1 are passed through a fluidized bed of a compounded powder R of a polyvinyl chloride resin to bond the resin compounded powder R to the reinforcing fiber bundles F1. The reinforcing fiber bundles F2 to which the resin compounded powder R is bonded are cut into a length of 25 mm to be allowed to fall and chlorinated polyethylene particles E with a mean particle size of 1mm are allowed to fall to be mixed with the cut fiber bundles. This mixture is allowed to fall on the transfer part 11b of an endless belt 11 to be accumulated in a mat like state. The accumulated matter P4 is held between endless belts 10, 11 to be passed through a heating oven 12 to melt the resin compounded powder R. Continuously, the accumulated matter is cooled by a cooling blower 13 to produce an objective fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin sheet S having chlorinated polyethylene particles E uniformly dispersed therein.
