摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a good speed change characteristic by starting control of reducing input torque in a period earlier than the other case of speed change, in the case of a speed change such that the input torque is large and amount of changing a rotational speed of a rotary member according to the speed change is small. CONSTITUTION:A device provides a power-on downshift detecting means 2 and a running condition decision means 3 for deciding whether or not a running condition is such that input torque is large generated further with a small rotational speed change amount of a predetermined rotary member according to a downshift. In a torque down timing setting means 4, start timing of control for reducing the input torque, in the case of deciding the running condition with the large input torque further with the small rotational speed change amount of the predetermined rotary member according to the downshift by the running condition decision means 3, is set to an early period as compared with the start timing of control for reducing the input torque in the case of deciding the running condition not in the above-mentioned by the running condition decision means 3. In a torque reducing means 5, the input torque is reduced at the preset timing.
