PURPOSE:To provide a heat insulating material for heat insulated vessels, which has low thermal conductivity and water vapor permeability, and high dynamical strength, is capable of being die-formed, thin-walled and less subject to deterioration of heat insulation properties, by using vinylidene chloride resin foams for the heat insulating body. CONSTITUTION:A heat insulating body for heat insulated vessels is molded using vinylidene chloride resin foams 1. Thus, with the molded body having the same heat insulation properties as EPS, the thickness can be thinned, and even a molded body having complicated portions can be made, because of the die-forming method. Further, because the molded body has a low water vapor permeability, it can avoid deterioration of thermal conductivity due to condensation of water, and it is useful as a heat insulating body for heat insulated vessels used for preventing dewing at moist places, or preventing freezing of the content in a cold district. Besides, since vinylidene chloride resin foams are excellent in toughness, the treatment of the foams at the time of manufacture of the molded body is easy, and since adhesive materials to be used are less limited, the foams can be laminated with synthetic resin, metal, and the manufacturing method can also be simplified. |
