<p>The film processing tank includes two parallel combs with spaced vertical teeth. The space between the combs contains the processing liquid. The combs are arranged with the teeth pointing upwards, and they have vertical slots between the teeth. Rods carrying the film to be processed lie with their rnds in pairs of slots in the two combs. A further comb is provided with its teeth and slots arranged at an angle to the first combs. This comb is able to move relative to the first combs, and by performing a to and fro motion, slowly moves the support rods from slot to slot. The film is thus moved through the tank with agitation to ensure even processing. The oscillatory motion of the comb is derived via a toothed belt drive from a bi-directional motor.</p> |
