PURPOSE:To manufacture a snack cake composed of aggregated particles, by tearing off a continuous rod of the cake with a pair of blunt, V-shaped edges each having a slant back face, without breaking the particle. CONSTITUTION:A continuously moving rod of cake composed of aggregated particles is pintched between an upper and a lower edges 1,2, each having a plurality of V-shaped notches with blunt edge 4 and a slant back face 5 disposed at regular intervals. The edges 1,2 move to the same direction as that of the cake rod at a speed faster than the rod. The cake rod is teared off by the tensile force applied to the rod by the edges 1,2 and the block 6a having a desired size is separated without breaking the particle by the shearing force. |
