PURPOSE:To improve the strength of the treated soil, remarkably, by the use of an aqueous solution of sodium silicate and dimethyl carbonate as a soil stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:A soil stabilizer comprising (A) an aqueous solution of sodium silicate as chief component, and (B) dimethyl carbonate as a curing agent, is impregnated into soil, and hardened to stabilize the soil. The amount of the dimethyl carbonate is pref. 10-50 wt% based on the effective component of the sodium silicate. Other hardeners such as acid, salt, etc., may be used together with the dimethyl carbonate. |
