<p>The agricultural mowing machine with a long cutting beam, has two cutters with sloping sided cutting teeth which are reciprocated one above the other, in opposite directions giving the cutting action. Moulded above and below them, are short plates with ears projecting front and rear. The rear ears have holes through them for securing bolts. The central part, parallel to the axis, bulges outwards. These acts as pressure members, giving a good cutting action without jamming. Their length is equal to the pitch of the teeth. Between these plates and the blade carriers are shallow U shaped spacing and packing plates, the outer ones having slots level with the securing bolts.</p> |
