<p>The sail is used to raise a weight or a person (9) and is attached to the top of a mast (5) fixed to a floating platform. This has ballast (3) and is anchored (4) so that it can move round 360 deg. The sail is triangular and is like a spinnaker, its sides being longer than the height of the mast. The weight or person is suspended from a harness which has two pulleys through which a rope is attached to the base of the sail (10) and passes through another pulley.
