<p>A triangular arrangement of three rollers (16, 18, 20) on horizontal axles drives and guides the continuous belt (14) of an automatic sanding machine, the lowr horizontal run (22) transversing a belt (24) which conveys the workpieces. The band and the belt are parallel and travel in the same direction, thrust units (56, 21) being used to press the band onto the belt. A second riven belt (34) fits inside the sanding belt, having a similar configuration, travelling in the same direction but at a different speed to the sanding belt. The arrangement ensured uniform pressures on the sanding belt, and at least one of the rollers in each group is equiped with a tensioning device. Pressure may be applied by elastomeric blocks or the rollers used separately or in combinations.</p> |
