Coking coal charge stamping plant - with reciprocating central group and static end groups of stampers

A mechanism for stamping a coke oven coal charge to increase the charging density consists of groups of vertical stampers which are supported by a roller track above the stamping box. The central group which can be reciprocated across the middle of the stamping box is linked by lazy tongs couplings to the two end groups. This ensures that the end sections of the coal charge are stamped firmly enough not to break away during the actual charging operation. The uniform charging density results in a high coke quality.
