PURPOSE:Using a catalyst containing titanium trichloride with a specific particle size that is prepared by precipitating from a solvent mixture of a saturated hydrocarbon and a specific amount of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon, is obtained title polymer with high stereoregularity. CONSTITUTION:(A) (a) titanium tetrachloride, (b) an organic ether compound, as di-n-amyl ether, and (c) an organoaluminum compound are added to a solvent mix consisting of saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon and/or alicyclic hydrocarbon and 20- 70 vol% of halogenated aromatic hydrocarbon and heated to 45-150 deg.C for 10 min- 24 hr. Further, while the temperature is being raised, b component and/or a component are added to precipitate the catalyst component of titanium trichloride with average particle size of 10-1000 microns. The polymerization of alpha-olefin is effected in the presence of a catalyst from the above component (A) and (B) an organoaluminum compound to produce the objective polymer. |
