<p>The wheel rim is shaped asymmetrically with one support surface for the tyre wall wider than the other. The wider surface is divided into two sections (116, 118) at different angles to each other. The wheel disc is attached to the underside of the wheel rim at the point between the two sections. The weld is a T-section which is simple to set up and process on a mass production line. The assembly is designed for maximum strength with the weld at a point where there is least stress change. Preferred dimensions for the various sections for different diameter and gauge tyres are given.</p> |
