<p>S Content in molten metals is reduced by adding a granular desulphuriser, pref. granulated CaC2, bonded to a shaped article, e.g. a block, with 5-100 (5-50) esp. 10-25 pts. wt. polymer binder/100 pts. wt. desulphuriser. Binder may be a crosslinked polymer consisting of polyurethanes, polyesters, phenolic resins, epoxy resins, styrene-butadiene copolymers etc. Atmos. effects on CaC2 grains are prevented; bonding, e.g. to a block, facilities immersion and dispersion of CaC2.</p> |
