Sound-insulating ventilation apparatus with an elongate, block-shaped housing and a slot-shaped ventilation duct which at both ends terminates in a mouth perforating a housing wall. The ventilation duct and the mouths extend virtually over the entire width of the housing, the slot walls of the ventilation duct being partly delimited by sound-insulating (sound-proofing) material and, at least in the vicinity of the other mouth, by a wall of water- proof material, one mouth being covered by a flap element having sealable, planar through-holes. The ventilation duct, at least over part of its length between the two mouths and starting from the other mouth in the direction of the one mouth extends in an upward-sloping direction, with or without bends, in the housing, and the through- holes extend essentially perpendicular to the through- direction of the ventilation duct. <IMAGE>
