Large-surface heater comprises several mounting plates and has an insulating layer upon which there is a plate of heat-conductive and heat-reflecting material. Heating pipes are clipped to this plate. These pipes fit snugly into suitably shaped channels in the surface of the plate. Their depth is not more than three times the thickness of the plate. In this addn. the plate is made of hard plastics sheet, pref. polystyrene or PVC. It may incorporate heat-conductive and heat-absorbing material pref. carbonaceous particles, to improve heat-conductivity and radiation intensity. Barite particles are also pref. incorporated with the carbonaceous particles.
