The safety ski binding has a sole holding section with a bearing on the ski against the tension of at least one helical tensioning spring. This is connected by at least one tensioning cable with a transmission section which includes a rotary bearing. A cable drum with a spiral shaped groove forms the transmission section with the radius of curvature of the groove relative to the axis of rotation changing constantly. The rope drum has a hollow spindle rigidly connected with the spring housing, forming the bearing. The hollow spindle is made in one piece with the drum.
