PURPOSE:To prepare an unsaturated alcohol ester useful as an intremediate of synthetic lubrication oil, plasticizer of plastics, etc., and solvent, quantitatively and in one step, by contacting 4-meta-dioxanol with aluminum alcoholate. CONSTITUTION:An unsaturated alcohol ester of formula II (R<1>,<2> are H, 1-10C alkyl) is prepared economically, in one step, by contacting a 4-meta-dioxanol of formula I (e.g. 2,6-diisopropy1-5, 5-dimethy1-4-hydroxy-1,3-dioxane) with an aluminum alcoholate (of 1-4C alkyl alcohol) at 40-90 deg.C. |
