<p>The filter is constructed by placing the empty hub housing at one end of a tube and the filter retaining spider insert at the other end of the tube while the yarn is fed into the tube at its mid-point. A blast of air carries the fibre towards the spider where the yarn accumulates. When sufficient yarn has been supplied the spider is pushed along the tube to carry the yarn wad into the housing where it is compacted and retained by the spider. The hub with its filter are now discharged from the tube. The filter removes debris from liquids being injected via a hypodermic syringe. The filter is formed from a continuous length of yarn and thus does not release short fibres into the liquid being injected.</p> |
