<p>A bandage for human or animal patients which is to keep a joint, e.g. ankle, knee or elbow joint, immobile, consists of one or several layers of a fixing material or of a flexible carrier (woven tissue) in several layers supporting a fixing material (pref. gypsum or plastics). The fixing material can be made to set hard by applying moisture, air or heat. Bandage is easier and less messy to apply than wrapped gypsum bandages. If fitted with a sliding clasp fastener, it can be re-used after it has been taken off for the night.</p> |
