<p>Contacts are withdrawn undamaged from a thermoplastic moulding by locking them integrally with parts of the moulding which are then hot formed. The parts of the moulding to form the locking elements are heated locally to softening point by energising a heat source and are reformed, the contacts to be withdrawn are brought into a position where the bond between moulding and contact is broken whilst the softened polymer is prevented from flowing back by the surfaces of the contact itself. The contact is withdrawin from the moulding after switching off the heat source and after rebonding the thermoplastic material. The contacts are withdrawn without damage to either moulding or contacts, suitable method for miniature relays in telecommunications.</p> |
