PURPOSE:As the substitute for Ni-Cr steel, the Mn-Cr type stable austenitic high carbon steel excellent in the weldability and the cold workability, being obtained by adding nitrogen. COMPOSITION:16-20% Mn, 4-8% Cr, 0.4-0.6% C, 0.05-0.16% N, and the balance Fe. USE:The peripheral parts for the magnetic inductor of the cyclotron, the thermonuclear reactor, etc. EFFECT:This material including the welded joint part shows the excellent mechanical properties, and also, stably holds the low magnetic permeability, even if it receives a severe plastic deformation like as the cold bending work. |
