PURPOSE:To provide a method of transfer by heating sublimation, wherein transfer paper applied all over with a body to receive a transfer pattern, and a transfer pattern is scanned and heated sublimable coating material is placed in contact with a from the side of the transfer paper, so that a step for printing a pattern onto the transfer paper can be omitted. CONSTITUTION:Transfer paper is prepared by being coated all over with a sublimable coating material consisting of sublimable dyes, inorganic pigments, A binder, etc. and the transfer paper is placed in contact with a body to receive a transfer pattern such as cloth or the like. A signal obtained by light scanning of a desired transfer pattern is converted into heat energy, and by the heat energy the pattern is scanned and heated from the side of the transfer paper to permit the pattern to transfer onto said body. In a case where a colored pattern is transfered, at least three kinds of transfer papers coated all over and having three primary colors or the corresponding complementary colors will be prepared, the colored pattern is light- scanned through color filters to resolve the color components, and the colors on the transfer papers are successively transfered onto a body to receive the pattern so that the colored pattern may be reproduced on the body. |
