A power process comprises a gas turbine process and a steam power process, characterised in that heat energy liberated by combustion of fossil fuels or by high temperature nuclear reactions is indirectly transferred, in a tubular furnace, to a gas mixture or gas-steam mixture under pressure p1, which mixture undergoes an endothermic chemical reaction, with increase in volume, on supply of heat in the temperature range of between 300 and 1,000 DEG C and under approximately constant pressure, the reaction products produced expand as the working medium in a gas turbine, and then undergo an exothermic chemical reaction, at lower pressures than p1 and lower temperatures, with decrease of volume, again at approximately constant pressure, to reform the original gas or gas steam mixture, so that after release of heat to a known steam power process, the gas mixture or gas-steam mixture or, after condensation of the steam constituent, the gas constituent of the mixture, can be mechanically compressed to the starting pressure p1 and can, after replacement of the steam constituent which may have condensed out, be recycled to the tubular furnace for repeating the cyclic process. |
