PURPOSE:To provide a source of stationary magnetic field far an MRI system by retaining a magnetic material below its solidifying point in a magnetic field. CONSTITUTION:A powdery material, having ferroelectricity in a cryogenic region below 200 K, is mixed with a solution to prepare a magnetic material A that solidifies in the cryogenic region. The magnetic material A is filled in a container 2 and cooled below the solidifying point in an external magnetic field by a refrigerator 3. Then, the magnetic field is removed while the temperature is maintained. As a result, a low-cost source of stationary magnetic field for an MRI system is obtained. |
