PURPOSE:To render a device to effect various operations in regard to jam of a recording medium surely with a simple mechanism by a stopping fluctuations of detecting output levels in a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A device is constituted so that a moving or a stopping of a recording medium a through sensors 8, 10 is known by a variation or stop of an out put level of the electro-static capacity type sensor 8 or the optical sensor 10 equipped for detecting the variation of the electro-static capacity or a rate of reflection as the recording medium a moves through them. Thereby, various operations in regard to a jam of the recording medium a, such as stopping the device or effecting alarm indications, may be effected immediately by detecting without delay in case the recording medium a is stopped by the jam or the like. Further, the interval of arrangement between the detecting means may not be reduced than the length of the recording medium a even in the most narrow case, therefore, the numbers thereof may be reduced remarkably and the simplifying of the device and sureness and reliability of the operation may be increased greatly. |
