PURPOSE:To lengthen the life of a plug, by decreasing the wear of an electrode in the plug by freely shortening setting a period when spark discharge is generated in the plug. CONSTITUTION:This ignition device is ignited by the OFF of a transistor circuit TrC while one portion of surge voltage generated at a primary winding T1 is applied to a gate of a thyristor SCR2 through a diode D2, a resistance R3 and a diode D3 by the breaking of primary short currents, and the thyristor SCR2 is triggered. When the thyristor SCR2 is triggered, a thyristor SCR1 is triggered, the charging electric charge of a condenser C1 is discharged to a base of the transistor circuit TrC and discharging action in a plug P is stopped. A period when spark discharge is generated is changed by altering a resistance r. |
