PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust gas purifier for efficiently purifying the exhaust gas from a device for burning solid fuel such as briquette or the like without losing its burning balance in the device. CONSTITUTION:When a briquette 3 ignited at other plate is inserted into a briquette cooking stove 1, the stove 1 intakes air from a primary burning air intake port 2 to thereby burn the briquette 3 and to introduce exhaust gas into a secondary burning chamber 8. Unburned exhaust gas is burnt in the chamber 8 by intaking fresh air from a secondary air intake port 7. This exhaust gas is purified by an exhaust gas purifier containing a desulfurizer 5 arranged at the top for adsorbing sulfur dioxide and a catalyst 6 for oxidizing carbon monooxide and hydrocargon to harmless cabon dioxide and water. The opening area of the port 7 is set to 5 to 100 cm<2> to effectively operate the purifier, and the height of the secondary burning chamber 8 is set to 5 to 30 cm.
