PURPOSE:To enhance the performance of an electrode using water repellent carbon paper prepared in a process in which a water repellent agent, especially PTFE base dispersion is impregnated in carbon paper, and a solvent evaporation, removing operation is conducted under heating and in gas flow vertical to the paper surface and to remarkably improve the performance of a fuel cell using this electrode. CONSTITUTION:In the manufacturing method for a solid polymer fuel cell electrode using water repellent treated carbon paper as an electrode sheet base material, a water repellent agent, especially PTFE base dispersion is impregnated in carbon paper, and a solvent evaporation, removing process is conducted under heating and in gas flow vertical to the paper surface. Before this operation, by removing the residual dispersion on the surface of the paper with a hygroscopic material, the performance is further improved. |
