PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of magnetic characteristic by executing the nitriding process, under a nitrogen gas atmosphere of high pressure in the specified range, for a compound of magnet alloy basically composed of rare earth elements R and Fe where the main phase has a crystal structure of R2Re17. CONSTITUTION:A compound of an alloy basically composed of rare earth elements R (Y and lanthanides based rare earth) and Fe where the main phase has a crystal structure of R2Re17 base is placed in the nitrogen gas atmosphere at the pressure as high as 10 to 200MPa for execution of the nitriding process at the temperature of 250 to 500 deg.C. With this nitriding process, a composition expressed by RalphaRe(1-alpha-beta-gamma)CobetaMgammaNdelta Nb, Ta, Cr and W, and alpha to delta are respectively in the following ranges in terms of atom.%, that is, 5>=alpha>=20, 0<=beta<=30, 0<=gamma<=10 and 10<=delta<=20) can be obtained. Thereby, oxidation of alloy by further ultra-fine structuring of particles can be prevented and a high performance bond magnet can also be obtained by avoiding deterioration of magnetic characteristic. |
