PURPOSE: To provide a method for performing purchase with a credit card without making clear card number to the seller of service or merchandise. CONSTITUTION: A card owner is connected to a data base 5 and the identification of the card number and owner is confirmed by the data base 5. Then, the data base 5 confirms whether it can be permitted for the card owner to bear the cost for purchase or not, and when it can be permitted, a permission index or a code is provided for a seller. The card number can not be guided from this permission information. Therefore, the secrecy of the card number is improved.
