PURPOSE:To prevent a throttle wire, a wire for a stopping switch, etc., from twisting or winding around a flexible shaft or further rupturing, breaking, etc., caused by right and left or vertical swinging operations of an operating rod or an operating tool. CONSTITUTION:This structure for installing a flexible shaft 5 for connecting an engine loaded onto a knapsack frame to an operating rod 3 having an operation tool at the tip thereof in a knapsack type power working machine is obtained by respectively forming nearly semicircular cutoff parts (10a) and (10b) at the respective outside ends of shaft sockets (9a) and (9b) connected to both ends of a flexible shaft cover (5a) and protrusions (14a) for stoppers engaging with the cutoff parts (10a) and (10b) and regulating the relative rotation at a prescribed angle or above in connecting members (1a) and 11 of the flexible shaft 5 on the side of the engine and the operating rod 3.
