The coupling aid for the vehicle emergency drawbar has double jaws (2, 3) of pressed metal strips at each end to grip over the bumper strips. The ends of the jaws are curved over to grip the bumpers. The rest of the drawbar has simple metal sections linked by bolts. The drawbar is demountable and can be carried in any vehicle. It enables a vehicle to be retrieved without complex towing equipment of using special vehicles.
