The lintel is for windows and doors in structures made of aerated concrete, and usually requiring lintels made of another material. Use is made of a damaged aerated concrete slab which could not normally be built in, providing the cut shape of the lintel (18). Each lintel is fitted with one or more tension chords (24), aligned parallel to its longitudinal axis. These can be laid in a peripheral groove (25), on the underside (23), with bent gripping ends, and with a hard-setting bonding medium (26), then cast in the groove.
