Elastic seal for window frame - has double channel section with stiffener splaying one channel for increased sealing pressure

The window seal inserted in a closed frame, has a stem piece on the rubber or similar sealing profile for setting on the frame inside face. Two frame edge enclosing tips form a groove, and two frame gripping shanks are bound by a lengthways closed channel. A stiffening unit (12) attached to the sealing profile in this area, spreads the channel (11) apart in a line parallel to the end face of the frame (3). This can be a batten inserted in the channel after removal of part of the side. This provides increased pressure between frame and shanks, and thus enhances sealing.
