Cylco-alkenyl-substituted esters of alkanoic and alkenoic acids represented by the structural formulae <IMAGE> wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 4, A, B and C each independently represent hydrogen, an alkyl group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms or an alkenyl group having from 3 to 5 carbon atoms, provided that the sum of the carbon atoms in A, B and C is no more than 7, R<1> and R<2> each independently represent hydrogen or an alkyl or alkenyl group having in each case from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and R<3> represents hydrogen or an alkyl or alkenyl group having in each case up to 6 carbon atoms, provided that the sum of the larger number of carbon atoms in either R<1> or R<2> or R<3> is no more than 10 are useful in compositions and methods for counteracting malodors. <IMAGE> |
